To Them That Obey Him
-
The following Scriptures were given to three of us and brought together
in one week.
-
The words emphasised are there as a starting point for those who shall
understand.
-
-
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that
shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is
the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is
of me, saith the LORD.
-
(Isaiah 54:17)
-
-
But when they shall lead you, and deliver
you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate:
but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is
not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
-
(Mark 13:11) [see also Acts 4:13]
-
-
Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to
obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom
ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand
to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel,
and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things; and
so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey
him.
-
(Acts 5:29-32)
-
-
But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even
to fight against God. And to him they agreed: and when they had called
the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not
speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the
presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer
shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased
not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
-
(Acts 5:39-42)
-
-
And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among
the people.
-
(Acts 6:8)
-
-
And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he
spake.
-
(Acts 6:10)
-
-
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go
on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from
dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of
laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
And this will we do, if God permit. For it is impossible for those
who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were
made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God,
and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew
them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of
God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the earth which drinketh
in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for
them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: But that which
beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing;
whose end is to be burned.
-
(Hebrews 6:1-8)
-
-
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall
direct thy paths.
-
(Proverbs 3:5-6)
