A Résumé
-
-
God is Almighty.
-
God is perfect.
-
God is holy.
-
God is love.
-
God is just.
-
God is omnipotent (everywhere at once).
-
God is forever.
-
God made man in His image.
-
God loves man.
-
God gave man His word so that we can find Him.
-
God gave His Holy Spirit to those men who have taken the "trouble" to search
Him out akin to searching for hidden treasure.
-
God's Holy Spirit enabled (made able) the prophets and apostles of old;
who wrote down what God told them to.
-
The Bible is God's word to man, showing the Way to a "not guilty" verdict
on that day.
-
God's Holy Spirit enables man to search out the spiritual truths hidden
in the Bible. The difference between knowing the word or knowing the Truth.
-
-
Man is made by God (everyone of us).
-
Man is made up of spirit, soul and body.
-
Because of the sin of one (wo)man (made by God), man(kind) became sinful
and imperfect.
-
According to figures that we have seen elsewhere on this site, it could
be that roughly 40 % of mankind is inherently dishonest, 15 % inherently
honest and 45 % sits on the fence.
-
Man is greedy.
-
Man is unholy.
-
Man is proud.
-
Man is selfish.
-
Man is rebellious.
-
Man is fearful.
-
Man is a worrier.
-
Man gets sick.
-
Man gets old.
-
Man's body dies.
-
Man goes to Hades; a holding tank (most of them).
-
After that day man gets thrown into the lake of fire (many of them).
-
-
Why is this?
-
-
Why can't man see what he is doing to himself?
-
God calls it the mystery of iniquity and because God is who He is, He has
promised to reveal mysteries such as this at His chosen time and place.
-
-
How can man get off the boat to hell?
-
He has to learn to swim and then has to dive overboard and do what
is necessary to reach safety.
-
-
Does this entail going to church?
-
Yes, for a time, while he is learning that there is a road to safety and
thereafter he has to find his own way (on his own) using God's (not man's)
chosen tools; to dig and clear the undergrowth of man's evil way and then
get on God's narrow way and stay on it.
-
-
Then God, some of whose characteristics have already been noted, is found
on the way and we, man and womankind are cosseted, and hugged, and protected,
and loved, and ....... (there are no worldly thoughts and no words to explain
further). (1 Peter 1:6-8)
-
-
Do you want this?
-
-
Above all else?
-
-
How does God go about saving man from his evil ways?
-
He made an unbreakable agreement with a perfect spiritual Person like Himself,
who acted on behalf of mankind, who was a man with like passions as us,
but is also as God.
-
His name is the Lord Jesus Christ.
-
Anyone who chooses this Covenant Representative to be his Lord is in Covenant
with God and will become His child. (1 Timothy 2:5).
-
-
This is how its done:
-
Earnestly, from the heart;
-
Repent of one's evil ways.
-
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:20-21)
-
Ask to receive the Holy Spirit of God into one's heart.
-
You shall then be gloriously converted by God; from the kingdom of this
world to the Kingdom eternal (1 Timothy 6:3);
-
Which is a new beginning:
-
of Life in Christ Jesus,
-
of the narrow path that needs to be walked, to reach the Celestial City.
-
-
Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing
the will of God from the heart;
-
(Ephesians 6:6)
-
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should
abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess
his vessel in sanctification and honour; Not in the lust of concupiscence,
even as the Gentiles which know not God: That no man go beyond and
defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is
the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.
For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. He therefore
that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us
his holy Spirit. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write
unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
-
(1 Thessalonians 4:3-9)
-
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus
concerning you.
-
(1 Thessalonians 5:18)
-
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God,
ye might receive the promise.
-
(Hebrews 10:36)
-
For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the
ignorance of foolish men: As free, and not using your liberty for
a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
-
(1 Peter 2:15-16)
-
That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh
to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
-
(1 Peter 4:2)
-
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the
keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful
Creator.
-
(1 Peter 4:19)
-
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the
will of God abideth for ever.
-
(1 John 2:17)
-
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord,
Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will
of my Father which is in heaven.
-
(Matthew 7:21)
